NEW HAVEN POLICE ARREST WANTED SUBJECT
(10/24/2007) NEW HAVEN- Shortly before 3 p.m. today, New Haven Police arrested 25-year-old Antoine Morrison a wanted subject, who Connecticut State Police have charged with Robbery in the 1st degree and Escape in the 1st degree. When officers attempted to stop Morrison on Forbes Avenue, Morrison struck the police vehicle, causing minor damage and fleeing inbound over the Tomlinson Bridge.
Police units found Morrison traveling on Columbus Avenue turning northbound onto Ella T. Grasso Boulevard. Morrison proceeded to strike a vehicle that was turning properly from the Boulevard onto Legion Avenue. The civilian operator of this vehicle was not injured. Morrison fled on foot after the accident and was apprehended shortly thereafter, by uniformed patrol officers.
Morrison was arrested on the outstanding State warrants and on the following charges for which he had outstanding warrants in New Haven: Reckless Driving, Reckless endangerment 1st degree, Interfering with a police officer and a number of motor vehicle charges. For today’s incident, Morrison will also be charged with Evading Responsibility and additional Motor Vehicle offenses.
